Michigan Herb Associates

Michigan Herb Associates was founded in 1987.
Mary Thompson Gerathy and Rose A. Rounds were instrumental in organizing MHA.

Michigan Herb Associates motto is

"Each One — Teach One."

The purposes of Michigan Herb Associates are to:

  • Acquire herbal knowledge and share that knowledge
  • Help coordinate the activities of Michigan's herb enthusiasts
  • Sponsor an annual herb conference
  • Share program and project ideas
  • Promote public herb plantings
  • Promote 4-H herb projects and leader/teacher training

NOTE: *MHA does not give advice on the medicinal uses of herbs.

MHA's Special Project

The Michigan 4-H Children's Garden is MHA's special project. The garden is located on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing and is designed to help children have fun with plants and to learn about their uses. MHA has sponsored the Peter Rabbit Herb Garden and the Garden of Delight which are two of many garden themes. MHA donates funds each year to help support the 4-H Children's Garden.
